2022 Q2 global shipments: about 120,000 pieces, 33,000 pieces equipped with car volume
 
 
Tide Electric Intelligence data statistics, 2022 Q2 global car LIDAR shipments of about 117,000, of which 33,000 have been equipped with the car. Total shipments fell 28% compared to Q1, but the car volume rose 50%.

Domestic models equipped with LIDAR are Xiaopeng P5, EAN LXPLUS, Azure ET7, Ideal L9, etc. Among them, Xiaopeng P5 carries the most amount, with 18,400 on board in the first half of the year.

Supported by the further policy of driverless and assisted driving, the scale expansion of LiDAR in the Chinese market shows high speed development, with Chinese LiDAR manufacturers accounting for about 44% of global shipments in Q2 2022, an increase of 12 percentage points compared to Q1.
 
 
 
 
Brand TOP 10 sales. Valeo and Sprint Polytron accounted for nearly half
 
 
The global car LiDAR market in Q2 2022 Valeo has the first market share of 32%, down 3% YoY; domestic manufacturers Suteng Juchuang, DJI, Huawei and WoSai Technology have a combined market share of more than 40% and performed well in Q2, with sales rising YoY. China is gradually becoming a major market for LiDAR in the world.
 
 
 
Application areas TOP5. Smart car field has great development potential
 
 
According to the public data, terrain mapping is still the largest application area of LiDAR, occupying 60% of the market share; followed by industrial field, occupying 27% of the share.
 
 
Smart cars, wind energy and national defense occupy the remaining 13%, indicating that the application of LiDAR in the automotive field is in the early stage of the market, with large space for future development.
