At last year's CES 2023, Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between Sony and Honda, was officially unveiled, with the two parties naming the new brand Afeela and simultaneously showcasing Afeela's first electric concept model.
As time goes by, it's time for CES 2024, and the Afeela electric car is once again in the spotlight. This time, officials brought a unique technology demonstration - using Sony's PS5 gamepad to drive the electric car into the booth. While this was only a technical demonstration and does not mean that future production models will support this feature, it certainly demonstrated the deep technical cooperation between Afeela and Sony. While it's not possible to drive a real car directly with the controller, it's perfectly feasible for passengers to play games in the car using the PS5 controller.
The front of the car carries a unique Media Bar, which in addition to being used to display the logo of the car, can also display a variety of information, such as charging status, depending on changing needs. In addition, the car is equipped with L2-level self-driving assistance in city driving scenarios, making driving more convenient and safer.
Inside, the car is a scene of futuristic technology, with an extra-long center screen running the entire length of the front row, which will integrate Sony's extensive movie, music and gaming entertainment content. And to provide powerful computing and graphics processing, the vehicle also utilizes advanced mobile platforms such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon Digital Chassis and introduces Epic's Unreal Engine 5 technology. The combination of these technologies signals that the Afeela EV will provide users with an unprecedented in-car entertainment experience.
