August 16, 2022, Blue XUNLONG III audio chip series has passed the latest Bluetooth® low power audio standard LE (Low Energy) Audio specification certification, enabling wireless terminal audio product upgrade and innovation. Blue Cyberoam III chips will support LE Audio and Bluetooth 5.3, and will be compatible with True Wireless Stereo (TWS), Bluetooth smart speakers, low-latency gaming headsets, wireless microphones, hearing aids/assistive hearing devices, wearable watches and other smart terminals, and the terminal products are expected to be available worldwide in the first half of 2023.

Introduction of LE Audio

LE Audio improves Bluetooth audio performance, adds support for hearing aids, and enables Auracast™ Broadcast Audio, an innovative new Bluetooth capability that enables an audio source device to broadcast one or more audio streams to an unlimited number of audio sink devices. Broadcast audio offers significant new opportunities for innovation and has the potential to once again change the way we experience audio and connect with the world around us.

Based on LE Audio's Dongle products, which can be used in wireless one-to-many and many-to-one microphone solutions, TV low-latency headset solutions, and one-to-many speaker broadcasts, LC3 (Low Complexity Communication Codec) provides better compression and smaller packet delivery, optimizing product power consumption and improving audio quality.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), the industry association responsible for the development of Bluetooth technology, announced on July 13, 2022, that it has completed a full set of specifications for the next generation of Bluetooth audio, Low Power Audio (LE Audio).

Auracast™ Broadcast Audio

Auracast™ Broadcast Audio is a defined set of configurations for Bluetooth Broadcast Audio, as specified in the Public Broadcast Profile (PBP) specification. Product developers who have made their products compliant with the Public Broadcast Profile (PBP) specification through the Bluetooth qualification process and meet the additional usage requirements detailed in the Bluetooth Trademark Branding Guidelines are authorized to use the Auracast™ trademark on these qualified products.

The Auracast™ broadcast audio connection headset can also be used in public places to receive the sound of the TV, changing the current silent TV in public places by allowing interested viewers to easily join the TV's audio broadcast using their personal Bluetooth devices without disturbing others.

LC3 Codec

LC3 is the Low Complexity Communications Codec (LC3), an audio codec developed by member companies of the Bluetooth SIG, including the world's leading audio codec developers, using modern advanced audio codec algorithms. LC3 is a significant performance improvement over SBC (Sub-Band Coding), which is widely used in classic Bluetooth audio: it provides better sound quality at the same bit rate; it reduces the bit rate significantly at the same sound quality, and LC3 can provide high quality sound even at low bit rate compared to SBC. The LC3 audio codec is mandatory for all LE Audio audio profiles.

Lucent Dragon III

Based on 22nm advanced low-power process, Blue XUNTRON III supports the latest Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio protocol with built-in RISC-V CPU + HiFi 4 high-performance DSP, which is suitable for complex neural network algorithms and customized sound needs. At the same time, Blue Cyberoam III products also include rich peripheral resources, high-performance ADC and DAC, which can provide a personalized wireless audio experience beyond imagination.

Blue XUNLONG III is mainly used in adaptive active noise cancellation headphones, Hi-Res multimedia speakers, low-latency one-to-many wireless microphones and headphones.

With a built-in display interface and graphics acceleration engine, Cyberoam III will be used in the wearable product line in addition to the traditional audio products.
