Recently, Shenzhen Raythink Huachuang Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Raythink Huachuang") announced the completion of a Series A2 financing totaling over 100 million yuan, with joint investments from Xiangcheng Fund, Qianhai Mothers Fund, Zhonggao Wantai, among others. This round of financing will be utilized for business aspects such as product research and development, mass production, and production line construction. It primarily includes the research iteration of light source technology and software technology, mass production plans for multiple designated projects, construction of the Suzhou High-speed Rail New City Phase II intelligent manufacturing base, and the cultivation of a high-quality talent team.
Established in 2019, Raythink Huachuang is a leading AR HUD supplier in the industry, providing overall solutions for smart transportation, assisted driving, and AR display. This includes optics, PGU, ARGenerator®SDK, algorithms, and hardware. The company has successfully developed industry-unique large field-of-view AR HUD products and possesses automotive-grade mass production capabilities. Raythink Huachuang is headquartered in Shenzhen and has established an international research and development center globally, with an embedded software application service team in Changsha, an optical innovation research and development center in Taipei, and an algorithm and software development center in Bangalore, India, focusing on the development of the next generation of human-machine interfaces for cars.
In July of this year, Raythink Huachuang established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Suzhou High-speed Rail New City. The Phase II intelligent manufacturing base of Suzhou High-speed Rail New City is under construction, aiming to create an intelligent and automated ARHUD production line. It is expected that the future production capacity will exceed 500,000 units per year. Simultaneously, Raythink Huachuang and the Suzhou High-speed Rail New City Management Committee signed a cooperation agreement at the Ziguang Building, adding Suzhou as a city for industrial landing. This cooperation signifies Raythink's comprehensive upgrade in the strategic layout of the Yangtze River Delta, collaborating with the Suzhou Intelligent Car Networking Innovation Cluster to support the development of the intelligent automotive industry.
From light sources, optical path design, hardware structures to software algorithm integration, Raythink Huachuang offers customized ARHUD solutions that lead the industry. Their independently developed optical path design can achieve reflective optical path designs from single to up to five times, and can be paired with various light sources to achieve high-precision, large FOV displays. Raythink Huachuang's OpticalCore® optical core engine module can be combined with customized optical imaging solutions involving freeform mirrors, optical waveguides, and holographic reflection projection, meeting the technical requirements of various product forms and scene applications.
Paired with ultra-high-precision surface technology and large optical group designs, coupled with independently developed automated optical system testing equipment, it ensures stable HUD imaging. With outstanding multi-focus imaging effects, even in single PGU designs, by expanding a single optical path, dual-focus or multi-focus display effects have been achieved while maximizing control over the volume and BOM cost of the HUD. Combined with AR image correction, shadow elimination, distortion, and other algorithms, it achieves stable, clear projections with adaptive and automatic precision adjustment. Its advantages are evident in large field-of-view ARHUD, intelligent operation AR displays, and smart travel AR headlights, and its product applications include smart cockpits, rail transportation, smart cities, industrial smart operations, metaverse, among other areas.
The flagship ARHUD product doesn't rely on PVB wedge film solutions, effectively reducing assembly costs, having a smaller volume, easier integration, and no safety regulation risks. Raythink Huachuang's mass-produced products have achieved a large field of view (FOV exceeding 20°), long-distance imaging (VID exceeding 15 meters), and achieved three-lane coverage in projected images. Large and distant images can reduce the driver's discomfort due to eye focusing, making driving safer and more comfortable.
The solution also integrates ADAS, DMS, dashboards, information entertainment systems, and other data sources. Through custom function module development, it outputs AR real-scene fusion images steadily and with low latency, deeply integrating real scenes with clear images, without ghosting, distortion, or other issues. At the same time, it presents driving basic information, AR navigation, road warnings, and POI information through professional personalized UI design. Custom applications and graphics can be developed according to customer needs.
For different ARHUD solution requirements, by designing and modulating light source modules, it achieves higher levels of imaging quality. Mainly with DLP display modules, using hundreds of thousands of micro-mirrors on the DMD, it projects the intense light source after reflection. The LBS display module utilizes laser scanning projection technology, where laser diodes are combined with micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) to scan and generate images. The TFT display module uses LED backlighting, controlling the liquid crystal's branch rotation direction between two substrates through an electric field to change the light's direction of travel and present colors.
Among them, the LBS display module uses LBS technology, Laser Beam Scanning laser scanning projection, which is a "MEMS micro-laser projection" solution. It combines RGB three-primary-color laser modules with Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) to form a projection display technology solution. The OpticalCore® optical core engine module is designed, developed, and process-packaged by Raythink Huachuang, the industry's first LBS imaging module that can be applied on a large scale for HUD.
Currently, it has independently innovated and developed a light source module based on the LBS technology route, which has iterated to the third generation. It will be the industry's first LBS imaging module that meets automotive-grade standards for HUD, utilizing multiple light sources and micro-combining light through Diffuser imaging. This is the first solution that has successfully solved the LBS speckle problem and provides the market with a genuine and large-scale application of PGU optical technology routes.
The light source used is RGB three-primary-color laser diodes, so the colors projected after mixing light will be more abundant, displaying an extremely wide color gamut, greater than 120% NTSC. Due to the high flexibility of the projected image using laser light sources, when the module displays pure black pixels, it can adjust to close, achieving a very high image contrast ratio, greater than 100,000:1.
Raythink Huachuang independently designs MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) to precisely control and modulate the laser beam, with a fast beam scanning speed and low power consumption.
The high reliability and repeatability have minimal light loss. It controls the color and brightness of each pixel in the image, allowing individual brightness control for different images in the scene. It can effectively highlight specific objects on the HUD projection, such as particularly bright warning signs. It solves the problem of sunlight backflow.
Currently, Raythink Huachuang has obtained over a hundred patents for inventions and innovations. Through naked-eye AR technology, it achieves functions such as AR navigation, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Pedestrian Collision Warning (PCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), among others. The product has also gained market recognition.
