The AR/VR smart glasses market is poised for explosive growth as the surefire way and first entry point to the future metaverse society.
According to Tide Electric Smart Glasses data, the total sales of the Top 10 best-selling AR/VR models worldwide in Q1 2022 was 3.52 million units. This is 245% growth compared to 2021.

According to Gong Yu of QIYIA, "VR/AR will be an important entertainment terminal for the next generation. With the dominance of virtual reality, the form of artwork will change, but the same point in the bones is that both need talent."

01 Total sales of 2.87 million units, up 28% year-over-year
Tidal Power Intelligence data shows that global AR/VR sales in Q2 2022 were 2.87 million units, up 28% from 2.25 million units in Q2 2021; down 23% from 3.73 million units in Q1 2022.
Tide Power Intelligence analyzed that the global AR/VR sales were down in the second quarter of this year for two main reasons: first, the U.S. is experiencing high inflation, consumers are changing their shopping patterns and demand for consumer electronics is weak; second, the impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine, rising food prices and energy costs in Europe, increased consumption of daily necessities and further weakened sales of consumer electronics.
02 European and US sales of 1.88 million units, down 27% YoY
In the second quarter, global AR/VR sales were mainly sold to four major regions, with 1.27 million units sold in the U.S., accounting for 43% of total global sales; 610,000 units sold in Europe, accounting for 21% of total global sales; 320,000 units sold in China, accounting for 11% of total global sales; and 190,000 units sold in Japan and South Korea, accounting for 7% of total global sales.
In Q1 and Q2, sales in Europe and the US dropped rapidly to only 1.88 million units, down 27% from 2.56 million units in the first quarter.
03 PICO sales of 230,000 units, up 80% year-on-year
According to TidePower Intelligence, the TOP 10 global AR/VR best-selling models in Q2 this year were OculusQuest 2, PICONeo 3, PICOG2 4KS, PICOG2 4K, NoloSonic, QIYUDream, DPVRP1 Pro, HoloLens2, PICOG2 4K Plus, and QIYUDream Pro.
The brand with the largest number of best-selling models in the second quarter was PICO, with PICO sales of 230,000 units in the second quarter, up 80% from 128,000 units in Q2 2021; and up 44% from 160,000 units in Q1 2022, according to TidePower Intelligence.
04 TOP5 sales concentration reached 92%, Oculus remains hot
According to Tidal Power Intelligence, the total sales of the TOP5 best-selling AR/VR models in the second quarter of this year reached 2.65 million units, accounting for 92% of the total global AR/VR sales in the second quarter, up 2% from 90% in the first quarter of this year.
