Q2 cell phone market further decline, vivo but ruled the entire best-selling models 400-799 U.S. dollars cell phone market.
According to the data of "2022 Q2 Global Best-Selling Mobile Phone Market Analysis Report" launched by TidePower Intelligence in August, the global smartphone shipments in 2022 Q2 totaled 287 million units, down 8% year-on-year, and vivo shipped 21.37 million units, accounting for 7.4%.
After a year, Vivo is once again among the Top 20 best-selling models at $800+, while 1.68 million units of Vivo X80 series were shipped, directly reflecting the rising recognition of Vivo by consumers in the high-end market.
In addition, in the $400-799 market, Vivo also performed extremely well: it took the first place in the domestic brand shipments of $400-599 and $600-799 best-selling models TOP20 respectively.

1. X80 Pro rocks $800+: Vivo returns to the high-end market
While global shipments of best-selling phones in the $800+ market totaled 43.13 million units in Q2 2022, down 18% YoY, Vivo is back in the $800+ market after a year with 280,000 units shipped of the X80 Pro.
In the list of Top 20 best-selling models in USD 800+, Vivo X80 Pro, which was only released on April 29, met with Huawei P50 Pro and OPPO Find X5 Pro in the high-end market of best-selling cell phones with only 2 months' shipments in Q2.
The X80 series can achieve such results, and the X series is the representative series of "photography" positioning, which is inextricably linked to Vivo's strategic positioning of "audio-visual photography". The X70 series of Vivo, with its accumulated reputation and sales results, pushed the X80 Pro to the $800+ market in Q2.
2.600-799 USD market, vivo x80 alone among global TOP5
In Q2 2022, global shipments of best-selling cell phones in the USD 600-799 market totaled 15.19 million units, down 10% YoY. Vivo's two models (Vivo X80 and iQOO 9 Pro) took a total of 1.54 million units in Q2, taking the domestic USD 600-799 best-selling cell phone market alone with a 10% market share.
The vivo X80 provided 1.4 million of those shipments, ranking #4 on the Top 20 best-selling models list, besting the Honor Magic 4, and 4.8 times the number of shipments of the Xiaomi Mi 12!
This is also the fruit of Vivo's channel strategy of "developing overseas markets and making money for channel operators" (Vivo has been actively developing overseas markets and offline channels in the past few years, taking the Indian cell phone market as an example, Samsung ranked first with 28% market share in Q2 2022; followed by Vivo with a market share of (15%).
3. iQOO assists Vivo: 2.16 million units, ranking first in China
In Q2 2022, global shipments of best-selling cell phones in the $400-$599 market totaled 14.09 million, down 18% YoY, with Vivo ranking first domestically in Q2 with 2.16 million shipments, basically the same as the 2.19 million shipments in the previous quarter.
With 940,000 units of 2 models (iQOO Neo6 and iQOO 8), its sub-brand iQOO provided 44% of the sales composition, even surpassing the 750,000 units shipped by the independent brand Honor.
Together with Vivo's own brand S series shortlisted 3 (S15/15 Pro, S12) models, in this price segment, Vivo totaled 5 models into the Top 20 list of best-selling models, ranking the domestic brand first in terms of shipments and models.
4. iQOO10 series: the new flagship duel Q3
iQOO 10 series is the phone released on July 19, 2022, July 26 officially opened for sale. This is not only iQOO, but also Vivo's flagship new models after June. The iQOO 10 is priced at 4,299 yuan ($641) on the official website, and the iQOO 10 Pro is priced at 5,499 yuan ($821).
iQOO backed by vivo supply chain resources and R & D system, this iQOO 10 will be in Q3 directly against Xiaomi's Redmi flagship series, and from Huawei's independent cell phone brand Honor flagship series.
