TCL has recently launched its new generation AR smart glasses, Nxtwear S Plus, in overseas markets for $399 (roughly Rs. 2,872).
It is actually a head-mounted transparent display that can be connected to compatible devices such as cell phones via USB-CDisplayPort or an optional adapter for a truly immersive viewing experience.
Equipped with a Sony 1080P Micro-OLED screen covering 108% of the color gamut, brightness boosted to 600 nits compared to its predecessor, and a refresh rate boosted to 120Hz, the AR glasses can display content at 1920x1080 resolution on a 215-inch screen at a distance of 6 meters from the user. As for 3D images, users will get a resolution of 3840x1080 pixels.The Nxtwear S Plus weighs just 87 grams and the brightness has been upgraded to 600 nits.
A certain TCL executive believes that thinness and lightness is something that the entire XR industry is working on.

The smart glasses are close to the common Ray-Ban sunglasses shape, in addition to weighing only 75g, 30% lighter than its predecessor, and continue the split design of its predecessor, with two 1080p micro-OLEDs embedded in one pair of eyeglasses frames, and polarized BirdBath optics, for a brighter and more vibrant picture display.
